I'm just back from Brighton ... where they are proposing to hold a "naked bike ride" as some form of protest against motor traffic.

I don't quite see the logic behind it.

If you don't like cars ... well, don't buy one.

Naked bike ride. A wonderful thing indeed.

We were in Carlton/Melbourne on Lygon St slumming it on where some of the best restaurants are found recently.

Deciding what to have, checking the scene etc..........And along they came. Hundreds of them.
Some sitting on the saddle, some up on the pedals, some with backside high, all total without clothing, both male and female.

What a wonderful sight it was with folk on the footpath clapping them.
Should be more of it. We all know what's underneath our attire, so go for it I say.

It'll be interesting, because the PTB will be forced to tolerate "all that nakedness", if the numbers are sufficiently high.

OTOH, there is a guy in the UK, who has spent much of his adult life locked up, because he insists on walking about the countryside, absent clothing. He doesn't harm anyone, he just tries to exercise a bit of self-determination ... apparently, that is Verboten.

Every time they let him out of prison, he rushes off to get naked ... and winds up getting arrested again.

I've got no problem with people wanting to take their clothes off, except that, as we get older, most people's bodies do really benefit from a modicum of concealment and hence are not particularly aesthetically appealing. We almost all get saggy bits, but I prefer not to look at other peoples (or mine, really!)

To quote WikiPedia: "On 27 November 1958 an RAAF Avon-Sabre Fighter Jet crashed on the outskirts of Bruthen, narrowly missing the populated area of town. Flight Lieutenant Ralph Oborn was flying from New South Wales to the RAAF base in Sale when his engine ‘flamed out’. Oborn ejected at 500 ft, suffering only minor injuries, and became the first person to safely eject from an aeroplane in Australia." The metal piece is the only remaining part of the plane.

Hey - you must be an ex-Aussie to know that ! You are indeed correct. The F86 jockeys Avon motor flamed out at 40,000 feet, and he steered the jet away from the town, ejecting (almost said ejaculating there ) at 500 feet. The metal part is the jet tube tail cone
