nah, I had some die from very minor bumps. not worth it imo.

The HS5065s on my Laser have held up fine, though admittedly I stripped the one on the rudder and replaced it with an analog HS65MG because that's all I had.

The HS5085MG on my elevator wasn't centering very well, so I checked the dead bands and they were set at 8! After reprogramming the servo it's now working fine and centering properly.

Out of curiousity, because I don't have this problem of all over the place deadbands (every one I've ever checked in the 5065/5085/5245/7245 series has always been set to lowest setting), where are you buying them?

I'm getting them from a couple of LHS, tower, and hobbyzone.

I know some LHS take returns, and am wondering if that is a possible explaination. Another is that MN is getting the batches from the good hitec line workers. I don't think random chance could explain why none of mine were set at anything other than minimum, but many of yours (and others) were set all over the place.

Well, it is still good to get a programmer anyway...especially for the over current protection on many of the programmable servos. And the extended throws and programmable hard end points.

The HP-22 is cheep enough, that its worth it just to know..

I havent had any problems either? I've setup at least 17 Hitec servo's and they were all at 0?

After scrubbing it clean, rewrapping the SFG's, replacing the r wing, installing new servos, LG, prop,wheels pants, and graphics.. It's like having a new plane!

The Laser is a little bit more work with the decals, but it is damm well worth it. I am hoping to get my graphix package later today. It will be great having a back up Laser. Even Leo only had one.

Is the hp-22 capable of programming servos or just TX and RX?

Sorry.. I have both.. Yes the hpp-22 is for RX, and TX, the Inexpensive servo programmer Is a HPP– 21

Thanks. I just bought a hpp 21 through classifieds and was worried I should have spent more on the 22 if it did both.

I see now that I will eventually need both as I use the A9
