I wanna play...I wanna play!

Hmm...it's 1am, what should I do? I know. Go outside and take pictures of your Night Vapor. See if you can get some good long exposures and make some really cool light trails!

Not sure if these are all that good. Still trying to figure out the best camera settings...

Night Vapor as UFO

I love this plane. I've been flying my Night Vapor every evening that we have calm winds, probably 5 x's per week. I use 6 batteries, so run it about an hour each night. That means that I've had this little plane in the air more total time than anything else in my hanger! (Some kids on the block now call me "UFO-Man," --at least to my face).

How about a few more...

Gary and I got these shots this morning in the gym before the sun came up. Used my fixed 50mm lens this time and I think the results were much better. These are straight from the camera with no post-processing. Fun stuff!

Couldn't resist...

I went back to the gym tonight for some more pictures...

I got creative with the exposures and tried to takeoff and land at the same spot. Got pretty close!

The motor mount/gearbox seems kinda fragile, doesn't it?

I'm still waiting for either of two LHS's to get in the new part so I can fix mine, which broke when the nose tipped down after a sweet, gentle landing (on a hard surface).

I've been through a few prop shafts, but I guess that what happens when you don't give yourself enough time to recover from a dead vertical dive.

Took my Park Zone "Day Vapor" out in the early morning for some calm-wind flying. With a balance of stick and power, this plane will fly inverted by pulling up as if entering a loop, but stopping it at the top of the arc. This is a quirky little plane so turn on your speakers to hear the quirky soundtrack I chose for the video. Please right-click to watch on You Tube and comment on the vid. (Suggest viewing full-screen).

Would love to see if the Night Vapor will do inverted. I suspect no, think its a bit heavier than the Vapor, and even less stable. Ive been able to get it to loop (HARD, at least for me). Has to be the right conditions, otherwise the loop turns into a flop. Managed to get 4 of them the other night in the LHS parking lot.

WAKE UP THREAD!

Tried my new Thunder Power 160mah 25C batt in the Night Vapor tonight. With 25C slung under the rod, it will do loops pretty much on command (as long as you dont creep in rudder). PLENTY of umph. It was a a lot of fun.

Picked that battery up for the shiny new PZ UM T-28, which really is an absolute scream!
