Hey Don, Was just wondering if you are still doing the F-18 build? I feel stock this is the fastest and modded would be insane and best of the pack!

Ok did some measuring today on the outlets and here is what I found. Both outlets are 30mm in size so that means the "outlet diameter" is area is:

30* 2^.5 = 42.42mm which is basically 100% FSA

For 80% FSA we need 37.54mm "equivalent diameter" so that means each outlet needs to be:

37.54/2^.5= 26.54mm

So looks like a nip and tuck needs to be done, just need to figure out how to do it on a bifurcated outlet!

I am going to start with the wicked 5400 and 3S1300 and see how it goes. I do have some new higher KV motors on the way for 3S operation. Will post test data when I get them.

Higher KV motors are here. I am assembling a few now. Plan to do some 3S tests tomorrow. I am hoping one of these is about 350-380 watts on 3S, if so I will use it in the F18 :-)

Don, you don't usually carry motors higher than 5400kv so what are these motors you are playing with? Also, with the split thrust exit, a nip and tuck is more challenging. Have you considered just putting an extra inside layer of something in the back end of the exhaust cone in order to clamp down on the exit thrust? I know it doesn''t sound as sophisticated but it may do the trick just as well. I'd have to think a bit about what would work since the outlets are so small and it would be hard to "bend" something in that tight of a circle.
