Just found out I have Arfritis desease !!!

Well bad news today. I found out I have Arfritis. An incurable disease. It causes me to have a feeling that no matter what I do or how busy I am or how far behind on projects I get that I must continue purchasing ARF's. It just won't stop and can affect me at any time of the day or night. Did I need that new in box giant Kangke Waco Bipe that sells for $450, and I got for $215 plus shipping ? No, I didn't need it. I have seven ARF's new in box waiting to be built. And more I'm dreaming about. Went and picked up a built ARF today, a Kangke 96" Monocoupe, all built, all servos in it including flap servos, and it was only $250 so I had to have it. The new Phoenix Dauntless Dive Bomber is calling me, keeping me up at night. And now I can't stop thinking about the newly released 30cc Escapade. I have two OS 1.20 four strokes that need new homes in planes, a Magnum 1.20, a Magnum 70, two Zenoah G26's, one with smoke, a new in box Evolution 26cc, an excellent Evolution 40cc, a new in box old stock Quadra 35cc, another Quadra 35cc that just needs a carb, a Como 90 I just rebuilt, a Saito 120, Saito 80, Saito 50, new in box Supertigre 45, and several other glow engines that all need love and planes to go in. What is wrong with me ???!!! My wife is a saint and has embraced my affliction. She doesn't even yell at me or say anything about the Saito 120Dual Plug sitting on the kitchen table, right next to the new in box Valley View 20cc that I just had to have..... Does anyone know if there's any medication to stop this unbearable urge to buy ARF's, especially when they are a great deal ???? Help me...... Shoo

Heres a step by step list of instructions for you to follow:
1.) Grab one of your O.S. 1.20 engines
2.) place engine in a well padded carboard box
3.) address said box to Yours Truly
4.) take to post office
5.) reward yourself with a Great Planes Stearman. One of my flying buddies has one, its a beautiful airplane. He put an Evolution radial on it...

There is a well known cure for your affliction. It's called POVERTY

When the money runs out, so does the purchasing power!

Take a double dose of "tough love" and don't call your hobby supplier in the morning

Here is the equation I use. It takes me between a week and a month to get an ARF flight ready. Let's call it 2 weeks (on and off.) I have over 40 planes. That is two years worth. There are plenty that have taken longer because they are more challenging. Such as my Junkers Ju-88 build from short kit. Or my next Mis Stik Senior. Or Mistral 3M or Olymipic !!. Not ARFs, but real builds. Those are sort of in between. Not to forget repairs and rehab projects. All take time. I figure I have about 4 years worth. In other words I got plenty.

For new acquisitions:
It takes time to look. Time to buy. Time to get the stuff to build up. Time to tune.

It takes time away from flying. Time away from the rest of the herd. Time away from the family. Time away from other stuff you should do.

Translation is, at some point you just say NO, and play with what you have already. No need to hoard. No need to look at them. No need to think. Just go ahead and dive in.

The best medicine for wandering eyes is to concentrate on what you have already.

Nuf said.
