Well my tip is to make videos - LOTS of videos. Post them on youtube or vimeo and you can watch it repeatedly on your PC, iPad, cell phone and whatever...
That's what I do. Actually I'm just about to make a video of the flights I just did with my V-max ECO.

I just shot (or tried to shoot) a video of a Viper with the exact set-up that's going in the X-plane. It's so stinking fast, it's very difficult to say the least.

mumblety-peg , It wouldnt matter, If I hade 2 X-planes, they both would mostly hang on the wall. hehe..

Bill, yeah, they are so darn fast..

Arcteryxxx , do you like the V-max ECO? I have read so much of this bird, under many names, But the more I read the less I wanted one, seems to be brittle and tipstalls easy..

Ive read somewhere, I cant recall when and where, but it was somthing like, its would be easier to launch with full power then half ? is that right... it was something like with full power you will get less torquroll then with less power, this doesent sound right to me

I am talking about big folding an X-Kw setups.

I know that speedcontrollers are more happy with full throtle then less, but thats another thing.

Sebbe, just flip the switch wait 1 sec to get the initial torque out of the way and give it the business with a firm toss. She will be out of sight in no time.

Yes I do like it! It's a dog at low speed, but with enough wind over the wings it's a train.
Pros: it's relatively cheap, easy to build and it is fine as an introduction model to hotlining. A new replacement fuselage costs about SEK750 ($125?)
Cons: Weak fuselage (but radio friendly), tipstalls quite easy, needs trimming and reinforcements to the fuselage opening to accept decent batteries.

For me it's purely a stepping stone. I flew a MPX Blizzard last year (still in my hangar), the V-max ECO now, and I have ordered the X-Plane from Dbox for delivery in the autumn. (Can't find time to build it until the autumn anyway....). And I know I have room for an Enigma, Surprise or RW as well before I'm ready for the awesome capabilities of the Magic X!

The setup in my ECO is NEU 1115/1Y, KPG25 5.2, Suppo 200A, RFM 15x16, GensACE 5S2200. Static: 110A, 1850W, 8230rpm.
Here's the video just finished processing at YouTube:

The video is from two flights. GensACE 25C comes down cold! Turnigy 30C is almost puffed from the same stress.
Now here's the cool part: I initially ordered 30C GensACE batteries from hobbypartz, but they delivered the 25C by mistake. Instead of returning the 25C in exchange for the 30C (which would include two wasted shipments across the Atlantic since I live in Norway), we agreed that I paid a small ammount and they shipped a new 30C in addition to the 25C.
Customer service at hobbypartz - GREAT!

I'll settle for something like the yellow-fade-to-green from his hangar if I have to. Fluorescence often requires a white layer underneath to shine...

Yuri !! I had no idea you were doing this ! Guess thats what I get for not staying in touch. So when will the mold for the slimmed, pointy nose fuse be ready ? Looks a bit like a mini SRTL.
