HTS iView

Is this device actually being distributed? I have been unable to find a dealer with any in stock or even a part number.

Unfortunately due to recent changes by Apple, the HTS-iView is no longer compatible with their devices.
We are looking into the options to allow this unit to work again but it is unknown at this time if and when this will happen.
If you have an iView it is suggested that you contact us for more information and options.
We apologize for the situation. ""

It's typical of HItec to announce something months in advance and make us wait and wait and wait for it to hit the market. Must be part of their marketing plan.

Do we know if there will be a BlueTooth attachment for this, or will it remain wired?

I wish companies would stop trying to squeeze the last once of blood out of us. I have been waiting for this for a long time. Then I read the specs and it does not support audio unless you buy that huge clunky voice gizmo. After spending a bunch on Hitec systems, telemetry I was wanting this badly. Without voice it is pretty much useless for in flight monitoring of my aircraft. Lets face it an iPhone could be dropped in your shirt pocket or hung on a belt. Without realtime audio it just provides post flight data. I think that I will stop purchasing these telemetry products has they are never integrated correctly without having a whole crap load of sub parts. Such a pity.

Yes, But don't you need the voice unit attached to the TX? Or does it actually use the iPhone/iPad audio. According to the add I read this morning it said voice prompts optionally purchased. That is why I cancelled.

No, only if you want to hear the active data reading. It uses the audio from the iPhone/iPad to speak the warnings as shown in the pics above.

How come when I'm using the EZ View on my transmitter to display my speed and altitude, it always displays a zero for what I thought was the current value and a number for the max? I have to reset each value back to zero but still one number stays at zero and only the max changes.

I just recently purchased an iview and the LED will not illuminate or blink no matter if I disconnect and reconnect the data cable from the module or iphone. I use a aurora and the voice module. I know the data is being sent from the transmitter, cause the voice module is report the sam data as in the transmitter cockpit display. Am I missing something obvious? What else can I try?

If the app could be updated to have voice announcement and the ability to import .gpx data, the i-View could be a cheap alternative to the more expensive units used in GPS racing.
