Gotcha, I didn't think of that. How long of a run time could I expect with the carbon chassis and a 1000mah pack without the FPV gear?

I think you'll get around 7 minutes (maybe more) of cruising. The FPV gear cancels out the weight savings from the CF frame. Just start at 5:30 and see how many mah's you put back in unless your charger doesn't tell you. You can also just run it until your LED's start flashing and then note the elapsed time. Your Tx should have a timer. FYI....7 minutes is a long time for FPV flying! I get queezy after 5-6 minutes!

Yeah, with my 180qx I am getting 7 mins out of the 500mah pack that thing uses, I am using the timer on the controller and always come back with 3.75v in the pack putting around 300mah back into it. I use a PowerLab8 charger.

I am going to stick with the 180 for a while until I can use this really well in agility mode I don't see the need for anything else. Maybe I'll go from this 180 right to a 350... LOVE this dx6i by the way lol. What a difference from the crap controller that comes with the MCX.

That's a good idea. Get to the point where you can fly instinctively and FPV will be that much more fun. Today, I narrowly missed a tree by maneuvering instinctively. A kid said "it looked awesome how you dashed around the tree". I'm reality, I nearly pissed my pants!

Flying around the MCX has helped a LOT with flying the 180qx. The 180 even in the first of the three modes is way faster than the MCX and can get away a lot quicker. The nice thing about the stability mode is that it levels out again if you just let off so I can regain my senses and come back to a hover. When I put it into stability high angle I can see how it will become way more of a challenge. I have done some hovering in that mode but no forward flight yet.

Honestly, the MCX is almost getting boring already. I think I am going to pick up a Nano QX as I think that will be way more capable inside the house and also give me more legit training than the MCX is capable of.

I think this 180 while small and kinda cheap/beginner compared to the 200/350 it is still WAY above my ability right now so I should just stick with this until I can really say "Ok its time to upgrade" because right now it still scares me sometimes.
