Australian source of spay paint for the Fun Cub

I am keen to avoid the all white finish of the Fun Cub.

Can anyone suggest a source of spray paint in AUSTRALIA.
My local hobby shops only stock TAMIYA spray paint which I believe is not compatible with Elapor.

Posts on this thread have suggested Dupli-Color Plasticoat.
Also suggested is Krylon Fusion with a coat of Future Acrylic for a shine.
Is that Krylon Fusion FOR PLASTIC?

Any information gratefully received,
Tony

I really didn't like the motor mount so I took this as an opportunity to rebuild it with balsa/ply. I also decided to move the rudder/elevator servos back because I really didn't like the thin wire and tube design.

Here are some pics.
Impressive. Consider adding some air flow to the motor.

I use Krylon h2o latex in a spray can. Lots of light coats yield great results. Not available everywhere.

Elapor Compatible Spray Paints in Australia

I notice that world Hobbies in Australia stock the Elapor Primer but no spray paints are listed.

Changing the subject slightly I also note that they seem to stock two sizes of |EPP wheels for the Fun Cub, 45mm and 120 mm.
Has anyone any experience of using the smaller wheels?

There is a gap below the motor for air to get in to the esc. I don't want to perforate the motor mount so I've been thinking about putting in a hood scoop since the motor is so close to the top of the fuse.

Good, I didn't see that in the picture. Well done.

How did you achieve the down and side thrust?

Because they were so well stuck I didn't want to dig out the plastic mounts that glue into the sides of the fuse so I kept them. I also was a bit worried about keeping the thrust angle.

Many in my club that fly the FC don't bother with the down thrust screws so I left that out and just screwed the ply motor mount to the plastic mount and also glued it to the balsa lining the fuse.

I've had 6 flights so far and it tracks beautifully!

I'm running:

Hacker A30-16M V2
Hacker X40 esc
Thunder Power 2100 3s ( I am getting about 9 minute flight time)
APC 12x10

At WOT I measured about 360 watts at 37 amps.

In the air it has great power and cruises at less then 1/2 throttle.

I use krylon "short cuts" on my MPX planes.... several light coats and never a problem.

(not a funcub, but you get the idea. I had an instance of not being able to tell if a plane was upside down or rightside up, I mentaly flipped a coin and guessed right side up, but it was upside down and didnt end well, so the entire bottom of this one is orange,..)

I've used Plasti-kote fast dry enamel on my Fun Cub. It gives a good hard wearing gloss finish with only 2 coats. If you have any doubts try a test on the inside of the hatch cover. Apply the first from between 10 and 12". Others have reported satisfactory results with normal 'rattle can' car paints. Elapor foam is far less susceptible to attack than other foams.

I had a little too much fun with the Fun Cub the other day.
Doing some tight loops, seems like the spar let go and then the wing snapped in two.
Pretty loud c-r-a-c-k as it broke in two and the Fun Cub fell to earth like a shot duck.

For the fall that it took, the damage was not bad. Other than the broken wing the nose compressed some and bent a motor shaft.

I think I can fix the wing, but I'm unsure of the boiling water process for expanding the compressed foam. Do I boil the water, turn off the heat and immerse the foam for a little while to heat up? Does it expand on it's own or do I need to stretch it?

To be honest, I've had a fun run with the FC, but am thinking maybe time to move on.
Is there any value to the nose damaged fuse with a broken wing, 6 tower-pro MG servos, Trexxler tires and Sullivan tail wheel?
Maybe someone nearby might be interested in giving it a new home? (Around St. Louis area)
Thanks!

I painted mine with plain old Rustoleum. Several light coats, don't get to close when spraying. Holds up great and is available everywhere.
