I wonder why they even bother to paint them if they are gonna use such a cartoonish paint-scheme...

Yeah, and to add to it - why do they keep using tank unit #'s that match their model type numbers.

#3888 - really ?!?

It'd be much better if they'd just provide a double set of numbers 0-9 and let the modeler devise what unit it should be.

But then again, these are marketed to the masses who think they're just toys.

Why did they do it with the P-turret and not the H-turret? The P-turret looks cool but the H-turret was what the tank actually went into production with.

I wonder if the turret ring on the Matorro is the same size..

And if there was a King Tiger 3888, the allies would've been in serious trouble. Lol

True, but about 50 P-turrets (P-2 Turm) got the go ahead to be built and thus installed on the first run K.T.'s. Very uncommon but they did make it to the battlefield.

Quote:
The front armor was 100 mm thick, the sides were 88mm thick sloped at 60 degrees and the top armor was 40mm thick. It had space to carry 16 rounds of ammunition in the turret. However, the curved mantlet in the front acted as a shot trap by deflecting incoming shots downwards towards the roof of the hull. A new design was ordered to fix this but as an interim measure, it was decided to go ahead with the production of 50 units with this turret. This was commonly referred to as Porsche turret.

Now as for the why ? Perhaps HL just wanted to be different from Tamiya and WSN. Regardless, I rather like the Porsche turret better than the Henschel (or Serien Turm turret).

Yeah, I personally like the P-turret myself, it looks better, but it juts seemed an odd choice. Shell traps are bad things. Especially when you're deflecting it down onto the driver's roof. OUCH!

The P-turret was actually designed for Porsche's answer to the Ausf.B proposal (VK4502).

You ever played World of Tanks? Both turrets are available for the KT. Most people run around with the P-turret anyway because it looks awesome (And various other reasons..Lol)..
