Hi there! And hello! I'm new on the forums.

I've just assembled my tricopter last week and was starting to learn to fly. But since then it has developed a vibration in the tail that I have just this evening isolated to be related to the tail servo. I am aware of the jitter from an unfiltered servo and had set the servo filter setting on the KK2 to 30 as recommended. This issue seems to be unrelated and persisted when I upped that value to 40.

Then I tried disconnecting the servo, and hey presto! The vibration was gone. See the short vid below.

I'm using the BMS-385DMAX Digital Servo (Metal Gear) suggested in the original 2.5 build instructions. Any idea what it could be or what to try next? Thanks!

Not only that but.... the tri seems to have too many legs

honestly i dont see enough jittering to be concerned thats normal for the tail servo to wiggle its responding to the board detecting movement. you can try turning the gain down on the yaw see if that helps you but honestly mine moves and jitters or wiggles little movements.

Thank you. Your comment prompted me to test with the tricopter's hull clamped to my workbench to eliminate board movement and the tail arm didn't move at all this time. Chalk one up for newbie obsessing. The thing is that I only began to notice this recently -- probably because I started to get the hang of hovering (still no self levelling until I can upgrade the firmware) and began to look more closely at the copter.

What's the drawback of dialling down the yaw gain? More sluggish yaw response?

no sluggishness just the tail will start to drift not be as locked in.just adjust it until you get it solid but not jerky

Hello guys ,I'm new on rcgropus.Just finishing buildind a tricopter and i encounter a problem with esc calibration ""Throttle pass-through"" mesage on kk2 board.
Using a kk2 board 1,5 fw version , 20A esc flashed with simonk , 750kv motors.
I read kk2 manual and install everything in order and the same with esc calibration.My motors won`t start after arming the board.Any ideas?

i had same issue andhad to set the max throttle and minimum throttle one esc at a time for some reson. just unplugged all of them and plugged one ata time into reciever directly to set the throttle range then it solved the issue ur having

very cool.....interesting way to get around all the issues many have building a vtol.....different but works well

from what i seen they continued spinning....

the tri-copter motors can be shut down in forward flight and all is well...
we did not allways shut them down...

The APM 2.5 disarms the copter after a short time... its not easy to hold full right rudder for 5 sec while flying that thing...

Build thread... ummm... that plane was built in 2-3 hours.. flown for the day.. then ended up and the top of a 40 foot tree stuck... we got it down but it died when it hit the ground..LOL...

Working on a new one with only 3 motors that all rotate 90 deg...

Multiwwi can use a switch to arm/disarm the motors.. very nice project anyway. been thinking of something like this for a while.. actually, this was the reason I got into multirotors in first place..

I doubt it. Something new always comes about. That's the way of the thread.
