Packing tape/bookcover cover

Hi, I wanted to cover my build. But shipping for covering is expensive for me. I was wondering if I could just go and get some packing tape or book cover for $1 instead. Would this work well?

Thanks.

Packaging tape works real well, I have not used book covers, google search color packing tape to find places to buy.

All of my scratchbuilts have been covered at least partially with packing tape.... it has advantages but it also adds significant weight.

Went an bought some book cover. Looks ok but the foam I'm using still doesn't like to keep it's shape when hit, It's underfloor insulation. So I think I have fount a local store that might have some epp. Ill go there later in the week ad see what they have. There is also a factory that does eps just down the road from me, I might try to get some offcuts if I cant get epp anywhere else.

Thinking tho that I will use this attempt to play with and experiment because it's my 1st time building flying wing.

Thanks guys

Pretty sure you can get document-laminating film anywhere, that's all CTH and Aloft are selling.

Does anyone know the part number of the tape that's used for hinging? It was much thickier, tougher and thickier than normal packing tape.

I bought some tape at the pharmacy that what I think is blendrem and its frosty and somewhat tougher gummier than packing tape. It's called 3M Transpore. Couldn't find blendrem. Is this the right stuff? The adhesive doesn't seem that tacky but maybe good enough?

Transpore tape doesn't like to stay stuck for any length of time, it'll peel before long right at the hinge line. I usually use packing tape for hinges.

As mentioned above, I use Doculam from Staples for a couple of bucks a roll.
