I ran all mine, blade 400, mini titan, trex at 2800 normal and 3000 in idle up. The smaller the heli the higher the headspeed is generally speaking. The small size gets stabilized in the air with the faster headspeeds. My gasser was 2100 hs in idleup where my 500pro dfc is 3100 for optimal performance. If your head can't handle 3000 rpm on a 450 I would look at how it is assembled or a better quality head. There are times when I run my 500 up to 3400rpm and I have had my mini titan (450) as high as 3500. It definetly has some pop with the higher headspeeds.

For normal flying I would shoot for 2800 and 3000 in idle up though. I liked those headspeeds the best.

You may want to lower your pinion and raise the throttle. It will be a lot easier on your electronics and battery.
