Flyzone Dr.1 with diferent guts

Hi, some months ago a friend shared as a present all the Dr.1 kit (in parts) of Flyzone Dr1, I think to build it and as I do not have the brick, to make some modifications to use actuators and an old JMP Receiver... wath do you think?

Cheers.

I would not recommend using actuators on a model this large, better to use small servos.
Besides you will need to put all your equipment in the nose for it to balance properly.

Do you have a DSM2 radio?

If so, there are plenty of options, the easiest would be to buy a Champ fuselage with electronics, that way you get the brick and the motor-gearbox.
It comes with with pushrods as well so all you need to complete it is a Champ/Mustang propeller and a battery.

I used a HobbyKing R415 receiver, two 5320 servos, the BR3A brushed ESC and the PZ UM Mustang motor-gearbox in mine and it works perfectly.

Well at last the plane is 36 grams, as the RTF version. Used a more torque old actuators of almost 2 grams each. JMP receiver, and HK motor with a some higer gear reduction. The normal motor have 5.5:1 and 11.7 cm prop. After some test today the motor is really hot... but maybe the week end some flight test or before a change of motor. The CG is fine. Later pics.

It could be that that high pitch rubber band model prop is causing the motor to get too hot. I'd try a PZ P-51 prop or a GWS prop.

Test fly today. I going to get the prop that was adviced. The peck prop buned a motor the plane is promise to fly, is nose heavy (?????????) so maybe some clay in tail and to improbe the motor mount. I only flew it one circle in each of the 4 test flights. Looks good in the air
