Thanks a lot folks. Well, a couple more days and the 28 will be ready for Vegas. The reason for my fun test flight getting erratic was due to two servos that failed in flight. One was the flap servo that lost center on approach so stuck down. The second was the aileron servo that some how stripped a gear in flight. Now both where servos that had been used in some other models and bench tested prior to installation. I usually load them with my fingers and cycle several times. Both showed good but I obviously missed something. These have been replaced and tested with true loads.

I replaced the full size servos for the elev/rudd with smaller ones and moved them more forward for a better fit and balance. For the finish I decided to use a mix of paint and decals for the livery. Looks good from five feet so good enough. I just need to change the wheels and connect the lights then cut out the nav light lenses. I also installed the cockpit farm glass and as usual got some goop in the wrong place. Funny how I can build complex parts from my own molds but have issues with glass. This week end is test fly my new Eurofighter version two. Wish me luck.... laugh

Thanks Damon

Its been awhile since I updated this thread. That is due to work on the EuroFighter and A6 intruder. So this week my friend asked me to teach him how to layup composite models. Last week I had grafted a new front end onto my V1 EuroFighter and it worked great. That airframe should have been garbaged due to heavy damage.

In my storage room I had similar damage to my T28 when Lipo smacked into me during a mid air. The damage was really bad and I was just waiting for the time to strip the electronics out of it. So with the success of the Euro repair I thought to try it on the T28. This would also be a good low risk way of teaching Joe to layup from a mold.

So I did one side and Joe the other. In the pics you can see the procedure and flow of repairs. This morning we separated the molds and to my surprise have an almost perfect repair job. Yes, she will fly again. The nice thing is all the internals and external decals will be saved.

Ace,
Nicely done! You know as long as you have the molds out and someone looking to learn you might as well make up few planes! I'll take one! Might even be willing to pay for it!

Thanks Damon they both came out good as new

Al... Lets see how he does. He was so thrilled when his side came out almost perfect that now he wants to build the entire fuselage. So I said yes help your self to materials and go for it. My intention to train Joe is so that he can layup some of my parts then maybe I'll sell a limited number of the Euro, T28 and the A6 when ready.

We shall see how he does then make a decision. Well, the T28 is going back into storage for a few weeks so that I can focus on the Euro upgrades and getting a lot of work done to the A6. Stand by.......

Ace,

You know I'm good for one. Train him well, I wouldn't even mind some imperfections as long as it is flight worthy. I can paint and stuff so just need the basics.
Nice of you to take the the time and share your skills by the way. If you are giving lessons......where do I sign up?
