I use Windows Notepad to edit the .par file. The best way to figure it out is to open an existing .par file of one of the water landing models and see what points were added. You may have to add a couple of collision points and then rename them for water handling.

Thanks again GG, just before I found your answer I had tried notepad but with no luck....until I remembered the ability to select "all files" in the bottom right corner or just double clicking on the required par file DOH!

I am comparing files on float planes and have already got the Drake II to fly off water by simply copying the Gear par files and renaming them Float
However still a few glitches...it hovers slightly above the water surface and is slightly unstable when just sitting still.Occasinally it can sink part of itself in to the water like its sprung a leak lol. I'll figure it out
I have noticed that the gear or collision point files read quite differently from note pad to the RCDP editor, Guess I'll have to figure that out too lol

Thanks for help GG and back to the modeling

Yay success! took me 2 days to figure out why some planes worked and others didn't,(they have to be "3D", not" basic" on the RCDP editor) but now I have the Water Jackel,Drake II and the Moon Hydro Car all flying off water and many thanks to the great modellers who put them together in the firstplace!. Now all I need to do is figure out how to post the files so others can have fun with them too .......Oh and figure out how to copy over models from FMS to RCDP :P

If you place the scenery folder in your RCDP folder in place of your original "scenery" folder you get a whole new world to fly in . but remember to back up your original copy first The BMI version as standard has a small lake and a couple of water planes(+ others from BMI) to try out whereas RCDP does not. and the Alula Kinda glider is AMAZING! been flying it for hours, nice one FeWolf!

I downloaded a few models such as the Harrier but it causes RC DP to crash. Any ideas?

aaannnnnnddd...now I know why they crashed. I had to use google image search to find the page and now read again that these are for FMS
http://gunnerson.homestead.com/files...fms_models.htm

I'm guessing it's a rather old sim
"Splitted into 3.5" floppy packages:"

ahh well. Must have been late night surfing. I remember hunting around for an sr71 model...

FMS still runs fine on older hardware WinXP etc. And their are fixes for running on Win7, Win8 but still some lingering issues with newer Nvidia graphics cards. See this post for files and solutions for FMS. -- ggunners

I am updating the Google drive, I will make the plane and airports into standard .zip format which will install through plane addon .
Instructions:
Airplane resources

Installing add-on aircraft

Most add-on aircraft come in the form of a .zip package containing a single folder with the new aircraft. Extract the contents of the .zip file to the folder "My Documents\RC Desk Pilot\Aircraft" which has been created during installation. Restart the sim and the new aircraft should be in the list!

I am alittle busy with my daughter's wedding. so give me alittle time, I will update planes and airports as I find them. Please remember to thank the creator of the sim and planes.
