Which HK motor for my revo vxl?

I need some advice on which which motor/esc combo to get for my revo vxl. I broke the original esc and the motor is on the way out as well. I'm on a budget so I can't afford to go for a neu or other expensive motor so I thought that there must be something at Hobby King that fits the bill.

I'll be running it with 2200mah 2S batteries, big summit vxl tires, and use it mostly off road or on gravel.

So would it be worth going for a sensored motor, or going up to a 1:10 scale motor?

Your help would appreciated

It's hard to find something at HK that fits and works. Most of the better 28mm can motors have 4mm shafts which are impossible to find pinions for (I bought one before realizing it was 4mm not 1/8"). I ended up converting mine to a 36mm motor using the brushed motor mount parts.

How do you know the motor is on it's way out?

thanks, Do you run 2S or 3S with the bigger motor?

I'm sure its on its way out because one of the wires going into the motor has broken a few strands of wire and only a few remain. It also is very "jerky" on launch and you can't pull full throttle straight away. It has to build up a bit of speed before you can go full throttle.

any idea what this combo would be like?

I ran both 2s and 3s on the bigger motor, undrivable at WOT on both. It would wheelie from 1/2 throttle if I floored it on 2s, backflip on 3s. I had to be careful with braking as well, it would front flip pretty easily.

This should bolt right in, but I have no idea if it's any good at all.

I've ordered one of those thanks. If it doesn't fit properly then I guess I'll save up for a bigger motor.
