Poll
FN-RC/Freewing F-104G Livery

FN-RC has asked for ideas for a second color scheme for their upcoming 70mm F-104G, currently in development with Freewing.

The first livery has already been decided, and is the Green/Brown camouflage of the Taiwanese Air Force. FN-RC is based in Taiwan, and the F-104 was the first jet fighter in its air force so it was a natural choice.

Given that the first livery is green/brown camo, please vote for the second scheme. Other green/brown camo liveries were omitted. Please note that some variants pictured are F-104As or F-104Cs, which will not exactly match the F-104G being modeled.

Please vote for up to three different liveries, only one vote per livery.

Hover over the picture to see its file name, which corresponds to the Poll choices above.

All White will likely be a special order, regardless of the second livery.

None of the above. Just offer an all white version and then everyone has the freedom to paint it however they choose.

I voted, but I really don't care what scheme they decide on. If I don't like it at all, I can repaint and do my own decals.

FN-RC is developing the aircraft at their cost, which is a *considerable* one --molds and production resources aren't cheap. Sebart and Ready2Fly are recent examples of production partnerships with Freewing. FN-RC originally intended this 70mm F-104 as a limited release in Taiwan, since, as has been mentioned, the F-104 was Taiwan's first jet fighter in their air force so they have quite an affinity for it.

The "smaller" 70mm fan and cheaper components is intended to keep the cost down for that market and what their primary customer base is calling for. Since they're paying for the molds, it's entirely their call, not Freewing's (and let me be clear I have had zero development input on this model to date in any official capacity). Who knows, if successful they could scale it up to 90mm one day for the big jet foam market. Evenso, this 70mm jet is 1410mm long, longer than the Stinger 90, with a 650mm wingspan.

George Lavern piloted an F-100 and an F-104C with these "unique" markings. 'Really George' was their names. 479th TFW out of Edwards AFB in the early 1960s.

Does anyone else think the NASA finish with the blue belly will be hard to see in the air? This jet is already small enough to hide in the sky, it doesn't need any help.....

Looks like if the air frame was painted silver with white wings it would take care of four different versions with a combo decal sheet.

Depending on the foam, silver and white will handle the sun much better then dark colors. Real bad to buy a new foam plane and have it turn into a orange on the first sunny day.

Cheers--Stacker

I've got a feeling this jet is going to bigger than you think. In the second flight video that was posted 2 days ago on the first landing you can see they went with what looks to be pretty scale size inlets. Unlike the last foam F-104 that was released that looked to have two large mouth bass strapped to the sides of the plane this one looks pretty good.

Didn't even see it, but in the other thread the length is given as 1410mm. That's 55.5". So not so small after all.
