I have the same retracts on mine and they worked fine until last month. The left one worked but the right one refused to come down. Made my first one wheel landing and naturally can't duplicate the malfunction.

It seems like it's usually the dang micro switches on the electric retracts that cause them to stop working. The new models coming from e-flite no longer use the micro switches. I hope they go back and update the existing line to operate without them!

I maiden mine this weekend. It flew great, however my FG-21 seems to be having a fuel delivery problem. Anybody else have this issue? I flew it without the lower cowling as it's a new engine and wanted it to have the best cooling that it could. It started spitting in the mid range. Idle and WOT are rock solid. After I landed I noticed air bubbles in the fuel line. I am planning on pulling the tank to see if my clunk came off or if there is a split in the line somewhere. I may add some foam padding around the tank to dampen the vibration it gets. Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I pulled the engine and tank last night. All looked good. I did put some hose clamps on all the connections inside of the tank. I didn't find any cuts, splits or holes. I didn't see a way to add any isolation foam to dampen vibration to the tank with out doing some surgery. If it still acts up and has air bubbles in the line I will take the extra time to add the foam. Until then, Happy Landings.

I tried both as I had them on hand. I used the 85*. Has a slight toe in ( wheels are slightly closer to each other) but it doesn't bother me any. The toe out ( wheels are out towards the wing tips)from the 90* bothered me more. I did place washers under the inboard screws of the retracts to keep them from bottoming out in the wheel tubs. I used the stock wire struts but had to cut a little of the end that goes into the retract and re grind the flat spot so that the loop fits in the wing. Have about 40 - 50 flights on it now. Power is a Saito FG-21 rx is a AR9110.
The hardest part of the install is getting the wire thru the ribs.

I've had my TF 60 size Mustang for about five years. I used Robart air up spring down retracts, 90 degrees. I modified the mounts for a little more forward rake and so they were not splayed out. Gear door is at an angle to the strut so they fit fairly flush. Started out with a Magnum 91 FS, but it self destructed, so replaced it with a DLE 20 with pitts muffler. I had problems with the engine. I would run fine on the ground and ok at first. then would start acting up in flight after about 5 minutes. I would try to land, but it wouldn't throttle back enough, then when I tried to go around, it would quit. Had numerous gear up and off field landings. Plane got really beat up. I finally determined it was vapor lock because of the carb location above the muffler. I installed air ducts from the scoop under the spinner to the upper rear cowl area and then an air dam to help the hot air out. It worked. No more engine problems. Repainted in RAAF colors to help cover all the repairs. Over 300 flights on this plane now.

Does anyone have some good pics of how they modified the retract mounts on this. I want to build it up before I fly it.

Thanks

Dennis
