Nitoplanes Pitts conversion
I wish to convert this:
Which isn't made anymore.
Here are the specs:
Wing span: 42.5 in / 1080 mm
Wing area: 569 sq in / 36.7 sq dm
Flying weight: 5.8 lbs / 2650 g
Fuselage length: 40 in / 1020 mm
I am guessing that the flying weight should be about 7 lbs when done. I currently have a 100a ESC, and now need to find suggestions for a suitable motor to bne run off of 4s or possibly 6s. I would like to run a 14 or 15 inch prop (but am open). She looks like a very easy conversion, as there is a lot of room to play with. She will have HS-625 mg's for the rudder and elevator, with HS-82mg's in the wings for ailerons.
I tried to use a couple of the caluculator porgrams, but never could find anything but frustration.
Since she is a Pitts, and needs power to perform aerobatics need some help picking out a motor.
Ideally, in a niro worl Nitroplanes says use a 50 size motor if that helps..but again, I want to e-power her.
Many thanks in advance for your time, efforts, and thoughts/suggestions...

I'll only reommend what I've used successfully, so her goes.
A Scorpion 4020-14 (440kv) with a 14/7 or 14/10 on 6S with your Esc would be plenty. Around 1100watts on the 14/7, 1200 on the 14/10. I'd use a battery of at least 4000mah/ 30C min for decent flight times.
For absolutely ballistic performance, the 4020-12 (540kv) with a 13-8 on 6s would push 1500watts at 70a or so.
Another choice would be the Great Planes Rimfire 55 (480kv) with a 15/8 I got 1240watts at 58a or so. Good luck Doug B

I have used this setup for the 46 sized 2s or 70fs planes.
This setup works really well in my 6 pound Giles. Yanks it around like a rocket
Run a 13X7 prop get around 53 amps with around 8.5 pounds of thrust.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Have decided to try a NTM 42-48 speced at 1300 watts capable at 650kv...
Will try it with a 14x8 APC. Will shrink down to 13x8 if need be.
