Help!
Phase 3 f16 fan/motor combo

Well now that don's rc isn't around anymore I'm struggling to find a good motor/fan combo for my build. I'm running 4s and have a 60a esc so I want a decent fan setup. Anyone with a current build that knows of a fan that fits nice in the fuselage? All the build logs I find are from 5 years ago or more. If you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Thank you
Chris

A CS 70mm 10 blade fan with a turnigy L2855 2800kv outrunner should make it fly on 4S. I flew my P3 F16 stock with its 55mm fan on 3S and was very happy. The combo mentioned was built for a Durafly Vampire and works well on 4S.
Perhaps a 64mm setup would fit better.

I have a 64mm fan unit from a stinger 64 12 blade with a freewing motor. My issue is that it has a shroud if you will that flares up and I've trimmed away a ton of foam to get it to fit but still can't get the two halves to mesh together to glue the bottom on because the fan won't allow them to come together. That's without
The thrust tube even on it. I'm kinda at a loss right now

Sounds like the 70mm is too big. Perhaps sanding enough to make the 64mm shroud fit will be the best option. I don't know of any 60mm fans.

Chris,

Here is how I installed a 64mm in my build thread. Maybe the photos will help.

Don that helps a ton thank you. I did cut a little bevel in the fuse just like you did. I didn't trim the fan lip which is a great idea and I think my fan is a little further back. Maybe I need to try and move it forward a little. Thanks again and I'll let you know how it turns out.
