Qualitywise, I'd guess Multiplex.

I'm thinking along the lines of FMS P-51 1450mm, Parkzone T-28 or Flyzone Beaver.

The FMS foam has the lead of the three you mention. I have never been a fan of the Z-foam used on Parkzone planes. It is good foam but I don't believe it is as durable as the foam used by FMS. Flyzone uses what they call AeroCell foam. About the same I suppose as Z-foam.

The most durable foam is the ELAPOR used by Multiplex. However they do not make a warbird if that is where your interest lies.

The EPP foam is a spongy and durable foam but is most often used in scratch builds and 3D type planes. It is quite durable and resilient and easy to glue back together.

Past that it becomes a question of who has the best electronics components. Of last, it seems to be that FMS is providing the better or more durable electronics with Parkzone and Eflite trailing behind. Of course, that also depends a bit on the price range you buy in. Of the three I think I would go with FMS. Have you looked at MotionRC yet?

I second the Parkzone T-28. With mine, I never had to replace any electronics at all

I own FMS, Dynam and Parkzone planes. I'm just curious what everyone else thinks about the current manufactures.

I agree about the Parkzone T-28. This plane has never let me down and flies like a dream. I recently purchased a Dynam Tiger Moth and Waco but I haven't had the time or $$$ to get them in the air.

At this point I think Dynam is hard to beat for the price (but I haven't flown them yet).

Way back when Parkzone came out with the T-28 I thought it was very good.
Since then I have flown the FMS T-28 and Corsair. I thought they were better.
Now I have some Dynam planes. They are better yet.
And just last week we have seen the announcement of the Flyzone Seawind.
They just keep getting better.

My Dynam WACO is a great flyer. The Detrum motor is good, the supplied Detrum speed control is iffy, used a Cobra ESC to be safe, had one dead Detrum aileron servo.

Motion RC is working with Dynam to improve quality.

There is no best brand. The new Z-foam stuff from eflite is supposedly made by FMS now. It's all really the same material.
TheFlyzone Scale select series (inc Beaver) is made by ST Model.
I like the surface hinges that Freewing uses a lot.
All of it is EPO...the foam density varies with each specific model.

EPO=Elapor=Z-foam= Aerocell

I agree but there is more to a plane kit than just the foam such as electronics, scale details, retracts ext.

Since alot of the models now are just being re-branded. Its more about who you buy from and the quality of the electronics. For me dealing with FMS (motion rc ) and HH as a dealer and customer have provided the best customer service. I own alot of different companies (foamies). Dynam started out strong but they are not what they use to be, I own around a doz. FMS planes, I had small issue with one and Motion took care of that asap. For me FMS seems to be the best bang for your monies and dealing with Motion Rc is always a good choice in my opinion. Happy Flyn... DJ
