I love the Walmut shell boats, I remember making some ages ago.
A toothpick, some glue and a piece of paper for a sail works too.

Did you use candle paraffin as mast retaining..?...it must act as a good ballast too, making the boats sailable.....
I love the freaky design of the bottom one...!

This eggclock is at least 40 years old.
Now, this isn't just any old eggclock...it could be set up to 5 hours (!), and it has indeed a "Smiths" work..!
We've used it a lot during the years, and are very happy with this pukka analog & reliable thing.
This afternoon I dismantled it, cleaned it, had its work WD-40'ed, and now it looks and works as new....ready for another 40 years of use...

More, on the "marine" theme:

This cool racing boat kit - the "Tornado" - was published in a Swedish hobby catalogue of 1950.
It is designed for "tethered" use, and .60-engines....
"50 knots or more" was claimed....

Whether it is "domestic", or imported from any of the larger international kitmakers, I don't know....
Maybe some of you will recognise it...?
