1/8 scale vs. 1/5 scale question

I have only driven the 1/5 scale bikes (sb5 pro) and would consider myself about an intermediate skill level. I have been eyeballing the ZH 201B or 203B for quite some time now as the area I run most is on the smaller side.

My question is are the 1/8 scale much harder to control or do they generally run about the same as a 1/5 scale?

I've never tried a 1/5 scale on road bike but I've had quite a lot of experience with 1/8 scale (venom GPV1).
What I can tell you is, the main thing with 1/8 scale is finding a smooth, clean surface to run on.
They're more prone to problems with bumps etc due to their size.

That was one of my big concerns. While my area is "fairly" smooth there is a bit of dust and tiny pebbles that can be laying around as well as a few patched cracks in the pavement. My 1/5 stick and run over them nicely though.

Find a basketball or tennis court or a big black top parking lot like at a Best Buy to run an 8th scale bike well. Im sure down in SD you can find a mall parking lot. The other benefit is they leave the lights on for security so we used to run all night with no problems from the police.

The small bikes are pretty fun and with a couple buddies its a riot to try and just run laps.

But, didn't I buy a GPV-1 from you a while back?

LOL, you sure did. I bought that, tried it for a minute, and then needed more money for my 1/5 scale so it sold. Now I am wanting to try it again.
