We've heard the name Yuneec Aviation Technology before. They are responsible for some of the first electric ultralight full scale aircraft and have been known to produce some radio controlled products for some major R/C companies as well. With the drone industry taking off like it has, it's no surprise that they showed up at CES with an interesting new Hexacopter design.
It's branded the Flying Eyes HX3 Hexacopter and details are sparse at the moment, but a spokesperson at CES says it will cost around $3,000, weigh just over 4lbs without a battery and payload, and be able to fly for 45-90 minutes on a single charge. We're a bit skeptical on the flight times, but we hope to find out later this year when the HX3 is released. [Flying Eyes]

agreed , the airframe shape looks cool and all , but then what happened with teh landing gear???? gimbal looks heavy , but who knows.
also , looks expensive to crash. molded carbon fiber???? ug. the bills are flowing.(out of your wallet that is).
i'd fly one send me one to test .
i bet its super rigid.

Only 3k for such beast? 1 hour flight time?? That is unbelievable! And the video quality looks damn good as well..

but if you break anything your not picking up a couple 16mm tubes off ebay on this one. I like it because its not overly CNC'd to death like 90% of the multi's out today

I would love to have something like this..but 3k, and THEN a high end camera on top of that.. I need a raise!
..actually, maybe I just need ot see what other cameras are good for something like this that arent 2k+ cameras.
(though the thought of having a 2k+ camera suspended 50+feet in the air makes my stomach turn

90 minutes is probably without the camera or gimbal in a static hover.
60 minutes is probably without the camera or gimbal, but with some leisurely flying.
45 minutes is probably with the camera and gimbal, but in a static hover.
We'll see. . .
