IFO MK3 - Rudder Mod

Guys,

I need some help, I'd like to add rudder to my IFO MK3. I have done some research and found out the rudder has a LOT of adverse yaw effect.

My question is, to all who have done the same mod, how much throw can I set to minimize this effect and yet have good rudder authority.

Thanks to all.

Regards
Marcus

Depending on how you set up your control throws, it is best just to make it adjustable. If you are using a control horn, you can always switch holes. If you are using heat shrink, start with a 1 inch cf rod at the rudder. I use around 45 degrees, and will be making a larger rudder soon. - Brian

wouldn't if the entire Virtical stab moves as a rudder be easier.

I came up with modifying the front tube conector (on the frame) for the rudder to be virtical and adding a vertical rod to the vertical stab with a control horn. And then just forget about the rear tube conection, and you have a rudder.
