DFloth,
thats a sweet Penguin setup you got there:-)

p.s.
is a 3s Lipo too much for that Motor?
That Prop maybe too much?

Thanks RCLab...

Watt meter shows it's running under motor limits and this is the third FPV plane I've used this motor/prop combo on without issue. Works like a champ!

DFloth,
that is sweet setup!

I've heard and read that the stock 2218 (bigger motor) with 9x6 prop and 4s Lipo
goes almost vertical

I will most likely opt for that.....

p.s.
cant wait for your vids....
I wanna' see how that power setup gets going;-)

Can you show images of the interior? I want to see how you placed
your gear inside:-)

Thank You much much!!!!

Hey guys,

Haven't been very active on the forums lately. But here is my new Bixler equipped with a LRS from IRC. Using a div 5.8ghz rx/tx from Foxtech.

I maidened it with my GoPro two days ago, flying LOS at that moment. I'm prepairing for a long range flight pretty soon.

I don't know if it's appropriate to include the YouTube video here, but you can view it here.

Cya!

blueprint.

Is that the version 2 Raptor?
(I believe the motor mount has more thrust angle....the motor shaft is pointed to the sky more)....the v.1 had pitching issues when different throttle % was applied....

Just askin' :-)

Almost Finished with my Penguin!

Took my time on this build to help save time troubleshooting in the long run!

Still need to setup and mount my FY31AP with Hornet OSD.
All the servo, video, and GPS cables are shielded and grounded! I'm running a bevrc 1.3 800mw system with bluebeam antennas. I will be running 72mhz corona rp8d1 for control until I upgrade to UHF. I will also be adding a GPS tracker in case all else fails.

Hope you guys like the color scheme!

ASW 17 2100mm - custom by loopFPV

Before:

After:

Some spec:
Fy20 stab.
2x 1400kv turnigy 8" apc prop
2x 35-40A HK ESC
2x 2200 mAh 3S turnigy
1x 1000 mAh 3S turnigy for AV
OSD Remzibi with GPS
Power sensor PitLab 50A
FrSky

Short video:
ASW17 2100mm custom by loopFPV (2 min 2 sec)

Long video
ASW-17 FPV (14 min 17 sec)

So... like You see it was very hard to pack a lot of stuff in very small space, but now this is very very fast glider with two engines 1400kv, and I can fly very fast, or very slow. 2 x 2200 mAh can give long distance in short time.

Now for ending my first FPV summer season, video from it.
2012 FPV 1 season (3 min 51 sec)

Sorry for music.

New plane for new 2013 season.
It very similar to the Skywalker, slightly larger. More sound aerodynamics, I think.

9" is the largest on the stock motor position. If you install a 12mm longer motor you can go to 10"

Im using an APC8x6 and can easily fly 1 hour on 5300mah 4S

Heres its 45min flight using 4100mah.

SSS FPV - Sunset over Oak ridge (9 min 15 sec)

Awsome! I was thinking of converting a glider like that. How did you do your motor mounts? What kind of flying time do you get? What is the wing span of plane? Thx
