Started working on the nose section tonight....this is going to be bigger than I thought. Picts to come soon....my camera is currently in New York with the parents.

John,

Pages 4, 5, and 6 are intentionally blank. I should have deleted them before I made the PDF. Sorry about that. Those are all the outlines I have. I found a very useful website that has loads of picts from various angles that another builder took. Here If i can be of any further help, just ask. Any pictures or knowledge that i can pass on, i will be more than happy to.

!!!! P-38 !!!! YAY! =D ok ok, not quite, but its getting there.

Today I did a lot of work on the nosecone. I used some all purpose putty to make the cone hard and add a little weight. I figured there is going to be a lot of weight on the back half so I compensated a little. I still need to figure out the nosegear... Also, I cut out the aileron and got that all done on the second part half of the wing. I cut the opening for the wing very small on purpose and didn't have time to go back and make it bigger. (always better to be too small rather than too big.) There is a little damage on the pilots left side of the canopy area where the foam is thin. It got bumped...=[

Enjoy the picts!

These twin booms are a bit of work eh? The P38 booms are a tougher shape to make than the twin boom FW189 I built. Now my cocpit was a different story.

I cheated on my twin boom FW189 by using a bunch of replacement parts like a GWS wing and tail section, but had to make the booms. Cardboard rocket tubes worked really well and are strong. You can cut a tapered "V" cut, glue the seam together, and pretty much get what you want. I sheeted them with 1/32" balsa, to add material for straightening, which filled small inconformities. Just a thought for booms. Nothing is out of the question for build materials for me.

Sweet plane scratchandbash, i wish my booms/pods whatever they are came out as nice as yours.

UPDATE
I put a light coat of polyurithane on so i could use non-foamsafe spraypaint. The man section is mostly done, all I have to do is some inside cockpit wirk and paint the airforce logo on the wingtips. Thanks for the hint about rocket tubes, i have some and never though to use them...eh, maybe next time.
