A hackable GoPro solution for 1/3 the price!

Always wanted a hackable version of the GoPro? Or maybe a Raspberry Pi with a built-in camera? We certainly did, and that's why we made the Lamobo D1 - a much more affordable, fully open-source alternative.

The D1 is a combination dev board/camera, and it's only 1.42 (w) x 1.42 (l) and weighs 10g. We made it so small and portable to empower creative makers the world over to pursue their wildest ideas. It's also super powerful, and we packed tons of multimedia features into the tiny board: a HD mini-cam, audio sensors, microphone, CPU, GPIO, WiFi, and more.

What's even cooler is its night vision capability (via LED) and replaceable lens (80-degree/120-degree/160-degree/210-degree view angle). Best of all, the D1 runs on Linux, so you can program and customize it to your heart's content.

Please check out details on our Kickstarter page kck.st/1pzoY82, and back us and help spread the word. Thank you!

1280x720p@30fps - why you're comparing your cam with small sensor (1/4" vs 1/2.5")to gopro?
While this is interesting solution, it should not be compared to much more powerfull gopro.
Also... Did i miss video samples?

Great points, that was definitely a presentation error on our part!

We're certainly not gunning to be a direct competitor to the GoPro, by any means. What we meant is that the D1 has the GoPro spirit of flexibility and portability, except that it's more flexible (aka programmable), more portable and much more affordable.

The key here is the open-source Linux functionality: the D1 isn't a cheap camera so much as it's a cheap multimedia solution for a wide variety of hardware development applications.

Hopefully this helps clarify things a bit, thanks for your feedback!
