2 90mm were proven to fly a 43 lbs model. but dont expect to do any loops lol.

this airframe is way more suited for a single 120. though 2 90's would fly it quite well, and lee liddle proved

Prolly a bigger esc would do but I have been flying this one of over a 3 months now iirc and it hasn't skipped a beat fits perfect inside the back of the plane

Why go to McMaster when HK sells the 8mm shafts?

Nope

I leave the booms elevator and 1 wing attached, this makes it fairly portable and really easy to assmble and the field. I fabed up a foam core fiberglass block that slides on to the wing tubes and velcros down the other boom.

Some guys take the wings off and leave the booms attached to each wing and install them and the horizontal stab at the field.

Mine is ready to fly in less than 5 min.

i basically did about the same ,i took one wing off with the boom attached,so it was 3 servo wires and air lines and 3 bolts and was ready to fly.

It is the BEST one out there. Covers every aspect of the build. Sure wish I would have know about this before I built my first one.

I'll do that, had a crazy morning with it,...at a decent sized fly in...lander retract burnt...servo burnt and smoke system wouldn't heat up properly.

Mine has been through a couple of hard touch downs but man does it get up and go when it is pressed to do so...

5 flights on mine today at the Big Jolt, love the way the falcon lands, full flaps and throttle all the way to the ground. Time to jump my power system up thou... 800 series HET motor in Tams Dynamax, 18.5lbs of thrust installed, going in within a couple weeks. Going to run 12s 8000 in it, should be around 19.5lb jet with 18.5lbs of thrust.

Stingray is much smaller. Here is a shot that shows the size of mine. I have the Tornado which is the same plane, just with composite booms and sheeted wing and tail. I have a k80 with 19lbs of thrust and it flys just awesome. Lands slow and will fly in the 180 range. Big thick wing and draggy arframe limits its speed somewhat. It is a real nice low hassle, worry free, jet.

Ok boys I decided to step it up a notch! For those of you that have read the whole thread you will see I have had my falcon about a year and have been flying it on the scorpion DynEmax on 12s 5800 with AUW of around 18lbs. (Struts, brakes, cockpit kit all the extras). It has always performed great and was dopplered around 135 or so. But it's just gotten boring and thou it flew nice it sort of lumbered for my taste. So today 3 flights with the Tam Dynamax conversion with the HET 800 series 685kv on 12s 8000 mah!

Old setup was about 15.5lbs of thrust installed, 115 amps 5000 watts and 25,000rpms. New setup is 19lbs of thrust installed, 135 amps 6000 watts and 27,500rpms.

The new setup adds about a lb and a half so I'm guessing its around 19.5lbs AUW but I need to weigh it to be sure.

This setup is a monster, vertical is ridiculous! We estimated a downwind pass at around 160mph ( this setup has a 225mph efflux). It is like a different jet with this setup. After 4min flights I was at only 3.85 per cell so plenty of extra flight time to be had! The acceleration is unbelievable it is off the ground in 75 feet and you can tilt it almost straight up and it climbs out fast!

On the bench we get 135-140 degrees on the back of the motor after a simulated flight, after the flights today it was only 106-109 degrees ( thou it was in the upper 60's lower 70's outside)

I am definitely no longer bored with the falcon, it is a monster with this setup and very reasonable cost wise for a quality higher powered setup.
