I love how low and slow I can fly this little plane! I can fly it practically 20cm or lower off from the deck and be confident that she will track straight and maintain altitude at that low level.
I put a spare set of SF Design Solutions micro LEDS on her, real handy at dusk.
I have tried putting a set of micro retracts on my P51 that I had from Yellow Baron.
However I failed miserably and took them off - they didnt sit well on the wing and the retracts would bind quite easily.
My idea was to wire up two micro servos with a y harness to the gear channel.
The added weight was quite noticeable.
I will try a second time, however, with a single HK micro servo in the middle near the battery tray and see if the retracts will work better next time. Probably will have to carve out some foam infront of the battery tray to allow for clearance of the servo though.
This little plane has replaced my favourite, the UM T-28 as my go to flyer in small spaces.
