Question Gyro Gain

Dear:
I have a Guardian 2D/3D forgot in my stuff for some time . Now i decided to use it. My main question at this point is as follows:

Using the Stabilize 2D function, must i use an automatic reduction in the gain of the gyro as the sticks move away from the center ?

I have two radios, a JR 10X and a DX8 and both has this resource , to reduce gain of Gyro with stick deflection .

I think this function can help fly the plane without the stabilization system "Fight" against you.

Any advice will be welcome!

Sorry my poor english , i'm from Brazil .

Best Regards!
Eduardo

Another question occurred to me .... on a plane with conventional landing gear taking off the system in 2d will not understand that the plane is out of level flight and try to lift the tail ?

Eduardo,

You can enable "Center Stick Stabilization" if you would like less stabilization in 2d mode as you move the stick away from center.

You should have the tail lifted so that the plane is level when you reset level flight. Don't reset level flight with a tail dragger with its tail on the ground.

John :

Thanks for your reply.

I think according to my bad english, I could not spend my question correctly.

I will try again ....

1 - A plane with conventional landing gear, adjusted for level flight will try to keep this behaviour . I understood that .

In the moment the plane is running for takeoff will not have a forced raised tail (by elevator action) too early ? Losing drivability with the tail wheel ?

2 - The radios (DX8 an JR10X) have the function of reducing the gain as the stick moves away from the center ....

This feature IN THE RADIO would help fly the plane without fighting with the system in 2D mode ? Or hinder the performance of the stabilizer ?

Again , sorry my poor english !!

THANKS !!

Petya,

If the tail starts to lift, then there should be enough air moving over the control surfaces to have yaw control without the wheel being on the ground.

Sorry but I am not familiar enough with your radio and that function to give you any advice on that. You may have to test it yourself to see how it performs.

Petya,,

In order to use dual elevators you will need to use a Y connector on the Guardians elevator output and use programmable servos, a reverser or mechanical means to sync the servos. Keep in mind that there is a 5 amp current limit on the Guardian so if you are close to that limit with the servos, you will need to apply additional power to the output side of the Guardian. This procedure is outlined in the manual.

Just FYI, read this: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=8764
Make sure those servos are really stable when connected in pairs.

Dear John :
Installed Guardian in a Carl Goldberg Chipmunk for testing.
Liked the Self Leveling, is working well.
But the takeoff roll, operating in 3D mode, it takes too long to correct the deviation of rudder. The rudder gain is high .
Another issue, when I put the airplane inverted flight in 3d mode and loose the commands it does not hold the attitude.
I feel there is low response to yaw deviations despite being high gain .
Any tip or advice ??
