Twisted Hobbys / RC Factory - 39" EPP 540 Edge - Build Thread

Introducting Twisted Hobbys' newest addition...

RC Factory's Extreme and 3D Aerobatic

39" 540 EDGE

..........
-----------------------------------------------

Taking things to the next level in 2013 with an all new ground up 39” EPP design we welcome RcFactory newest model.... the RCF Edge 540. Those that are familiar with the previous 39” models will appreciate the new hardware and construction including rear tail control push rod assemblies with adjustablity and new EPP bracing for easy assembly. While creating a new ground up airframe the dual aileron servos have now been re-located which creates a flush/clean look. The over all flight envelope has greatly increased, giving it unreal control authority. Increased roll rate was also achieved with the addition of outer counter balance tabs. This model was designed for the pilot wanting to learn the “next step” and also as an alternative for those who might be considering a balsa 3d model.

-----------------------------------------------

Looking to step up from a 32", but don't want the size of a 48"?

"It's as durable as a 32, flies better than a 48. The airfoil
makes a huge difference in precision, harriers, and
feeling like balsa."
-- Cody Wojcik

DX8 Program Template
.
For those that want a place to start on their DX8 see the two files below for programing. Please note that every model and setup is different and this should only be used as reference, you will still need to make sure that you are not over traveling and that things are all going the right direction.

The 39" EPP Edge 540. It is an amazing new plane!! It flies really well in the wind. With the new airfoil it tracks really nice! I hope everybody loves this plane as much as I do! I'm running the stock power combo with the 3 cell 600 mah battery. This is the easiest hovering plane I know of. The harrier rolls are easy to perform with this plane also. I found the battery to be centered on spar for my c/g to be good.
Check it out at

This is a great new plane! I can't wait to see some other videos out and how other people like this plane. It knife edges really well with help from the air foil.
Happy flying!
Benton

Another one to add to the hangar of foam. These are the best foamies hands down! I love my Sbach's in the 39'' and 48''. The Edge looks sweet!

I've had the opportunity to build one of these already and I have to say this 39" builds just as easy as the 32" ers, maybe easier. The servo slots were really nice, and so was the motor mount.

I can't wait to get this thing in the air. The build is going well. Got to add the rudder and push rods and motor and we will be flying soon! I wish I didn't have to go to school today.

Yeah I'm sure the 39"+ can handle more wind. Bet Benton will the first to get a video up.

You can never have too many foamies... and if you are looking at the Crack Yak-55 that is basically standard issue for all 3D pilots now, so yes to both... lol..

I'll probably just get both then.
