Question
H9 P-47 Thunderbolt fuel tank size

Getting ready to fly my P-47 60 size from Hangar 9. It has a Saito 125 GK motor. Trying to figure out what my fuel consumption is going to be and estimate flight time.

I can't for the life of me find any specs as to what size fuel tank this plane has in it? Anyone have this same plane and motor configuration? Just wondering how long I will be able to fly for with the stock fuel tank size in this plane. I know throttle position and mixture settings play a big role in fuel consumption, but I'm just trying to get a base number to start with. Thanks

Well if you cant find the specs do what I do.. I strap it to the rear wheel of my car... Start up the model.. running on the rich side... and run her at half throttle till she dies to get a base line (time)... dont recommend full throttle due to cyl head temp issues while not in flight... remember to keep her rich.. will keep temp down and simulate approx 3/4 throttle flight..

I do what frankie does Except I run it with mixtures set. keeping it above 1/2 throttle I try in my mind to see the airplane taxi out take off and fly around never going below 1/2 throttle.
I'll let this go on for 5 minutes. stop it. see how much fuel is left and do the math.....
Don't worry too much.... the first time I flew that airplane it was already dead sticked as my friend pushed the transmitter into my gut and told me to land it. It flew ok and landed nice
