F9F Panther EDF - any suggestions?

I am trying to find a decent F9F Panther EDF that is a good intermediate ARF or kit. So far I can only find a small one carried by Hobby Lobby, but I am looking for something a little larger than 27" wingspan. I am also willing to pay for good quality if there is anything out there. Any suggestions?

Well two 90mm airframes come to mind

1. Jet Hangar Hobby- it is a kit.
2. Aeronaut Panther-this is ARF by most standards but will cost you as it is all composite. The Jet Hanger is composite fuse with built up wings or foam your choice. Once you glass them it will be composite but thats up to you.

90mm will fly both these airframes with authority. The Jet Hangar Hobby is a 12s setup, the Aeronaut 90mm is a 6-8s battery configuration.

Good Luck.

Thanks Jeff!

Does anyone have any comments about the quality of the RCLander version?

Big composite ARF, unfortunately also big $$$$.

I also thought Sapac had a Panther ARF coming this season, but I can't see it on their website.

I had two RCLander Panthers. Was not my favorite jet as they took lots of battery power and a strong throw to get them going.
My friend bought a Hobby Lobby Panther and yes, they are smaller but a heck of a lot better flying jet and now I have one of them and like the HL Panther lots better.
Thats what I would start with if it was me.

SAPAC will be releasing a composite 70MM F9F panther/cougar soon. I have no idea when, but I would hope by the end of the year!

the rcl's are great flyers, but because they lack full ducting, they take alot of power to keep in the air.

the aeronaut panther is a awsome flyer!!!

and if your in the mood to do some building, the jhh panther a real sweet heart in the air

Great, thanks everyone for all for the guidance and insight on the various versions! I have some homework to do before making my next purchase, and I really love the look of the Grumman F9F-2 platform.

Well, for now I ended up ordering the RCLander version without the landing gear, to be used as a belly lander. Aside from the weak landing gear, this one gets high marks all around on various posts within RCGroups and other forums, and has a very nice build review posted here as well.

Maybe later on I will decide to upgrade to the much higher quality Aeronaut version.

I need to take my addiction of RC planes one step at a time.
