Cirrus MRX-4 / GWS Crystal?
The subject pretty much says it all:

Will a GWS crystal work in a Cirrus MRX-4 receiver?

The Cirrus Rx takes full size HiTec SINGLE CONVERSION crystals.

Although HiTec is also a SINGLE CONVERSION crystals, but the frequency off-set more than 1 Khz, that will reduce the range very much!

Hey soslo,

I'll caution you on the cirus receiver. I have one and it is horrible! By far the worst of the 7 or 8 receivers I own. On a 1-10 scale with 1 being best, I'd rank them:

HItec 555 #1
gws 6 channel #2
gws 4 channel w/long ant #3
gws 4 channel w/short ant #4
gum wrapper, rock or anything else 5-9
cirus mrx #10

Looks like the GWS 6-channel is the way to go and stay within the price range I wanted, and I'll be able to use all the features of my Flash5 with it too.

Matt, I like how you put the gum wrapper, and rock above the Cirrus, gets the point across quite effectively. LOL
