hyper Caipirinha project thread

Been flying many wings a few years now. Really love the various Teksumo/Popwings in stock and blunt verions

But now I want to try a Caipirinha. A bit smaller than a Teksumo, but sleeker, thinner and lighter too. Just putting my whole kit from the Monkeyblunt into it now. Motor rated to 420 watts, but I will run it at 330 watts max on 3S.

The transplantation

Fiberglassed the motor mount of course

10x6 prop barely clears the elevons, LOL

Hey BC,
3s Caipys fly great, I've had mine on 3s since they were released as the std 2s setup was a little soft... Mines not as crazy as yours will be.
Your biggest problem will be getting CG, I had to move Everything forward and even sink motor mount in further.
Can just get desired CG with a GP2, Zippy compact 3s 2700s fit nicely with a little carving

Chris.

Too Much Fun (5 min 10 sec)

great stuff, NB. I will heed your advice. I kind of wondered about the motor hanging way out behind. Guess I will gather all the bits and lay them out now before I cut&glue. And I am using GP3, which is lighter I think. Might have to add lead too.

My Zippy compact 2700 are 35C, which weight a bit more than the regular ones.

Razor, flight times .. I don't know and also don't expect it to be very long. 5 minutes of full tilt aerobatics, ground strafing, but then maybe 15min of slow cruising

well when you're right you are right

This wing is just too darned short! I will have t cut the nose off and extend it a good 4 inches to get it to balance now. And that is after sinking in the motor mount another couple inches, plus a heavy heavy 2700mah 3S ahead of the CG

so here is the result of bumping the blunt section forward. Now it still tail heavy on mocking up, but perhaps it will once everything is wired up. Not surprisingly, it now resembles a Z3

Hey now maybe I can install the batter lengthwise too.

reconfigured the fins for my Caipirinha build

anti-waggle arrangement. But with wingtip fences to gain a little added lift still. Had to cut out the nose and build it forward a few inches for it to balance with the big motor and ESC
