Astir CS77

Some time ago I posted a forum question regarding the 1/4 scale Wik Astir CS77 which dates back to the 1970's. Not much info could be found so I thought I would put the question out there again. Does anyone know anything of this kit or the manufacturer and if there are any photos of the Wik Astir CS77 out there they would be greatly appreciated.

Astir CS77 | Choice!

There seems to be plenty out there.
Google ASTIR CS77, click on "images" and you'll find hundreds of references.

One of which is from 1978 (the gorgeous blonde)

another from Rippin:

Yes, you are right, there are plenty of references out there for the Astir CS77 but not specifically the Wik Astir CS77.

I had one some years ago. Lovely glider and flew well. It ended on a severe aerotow when the wings snapped and it fell to earth. The pilot survived

Thanks for the reply Vince, very much appreciated. I've had my Astir for a few years now and it is awaiting a full refurbishment (I believe I am owner No.3 of this particular model). My intent is to install a retract and a full cockpit, it would be good to increase the depth of the airbrakes also but that looks like it will require a major bit of surgery. Do you have any other photos of your model and even the old manual that came with the kit?

I don't have any detail shots. The kit came with a moulded all inclusive cockpit ' bucket' insert which I cut up to create a proper independant seat.

Great photos and a fantastic looking model, pity you don't still have it. All I've been able to dig up (and download) on the net is a copy of the Wik catalogue from 1978-79, which both the Astir CS77 and Twin Astir are in. Shall keep searching. Thanks once again for the pics.
