Question
UMX Sbach 342 (non-AS3X)

Just purchased my first ultra-micro plane, a like-new UMX Sbach 342 (non-AS3X), and have a question about this model. So far I've been unsuccessful at finding an answer via searching.

At complete idle, and regardless if I have my TX powered off or on, the aileron servos (I think) constantly emit a high-frequency sound.

Is this normal for this model, or perhaps all ultra-micros?

The linear servos can be twitchy and make noise... pretty normal.

With the power off, spin the gearwheels on the aileron servos in you fingers to make sure they are free spinning with no snags.

This is normal for all digital servos because they are keeping rigid to preserve the current position. Unlike analog servos which simply do nothing when no input is given.
Sometimes the digital squeal can be minimized by trimming and adjusting the linkages to release any tension in the hinges that might be ever so slightly pushing back on the servo.

I can accept that. Learn something new everyday.

Thanks a bunch.

And yes, both aileron servos are free spinning with power-OFF.
