Change Sun 12 blade 90mm

Hey guys, just thought I would share this. The guys a X-flight sent me the new Change Sun 12 blade 90mm edf thats going to be coming soon. I tested it with the HET 700-60-1485 motor on 4000mah 8s. It pulls about 105 amps and is alittle over 3000 watts with the thrust at 7lbs installed in my Sniper 90. Before I had the HET 90mm unit with the arc 36-75-1 motor in my Sniper and it put out a little more thrust but I think the top speed with this CS unit was a little better. Here are some pics. Oh and the sound is great, I think im gunna leave this one in.

supposedly the 70mm is in production, and the 90mm is also. They also have a 120mm that is still in the testing phase. I will send another e-mail to Rocky at X-flight because I am needing to get two 70mm for a A-10 and possibly two more 90mm's for a F-14. They take a few days to get back, but always return e-mails. I will let you know if I hear anything.

the rotor bares a striking resemblance to a world known high end edf producer......

sounds great...

sadly, looks like a rip off rotor.

id be interested in a 120 for sure though.

I know it does look alot like a new high end 90mm edf, but it is slightly different with a whole extra blade and slightly different shape. People that can afford that one will still buy it and be very happy, and people who cant that want a similar sound will be able to buy this one. So I think in the end everybody will win, the new trend nowadays is more blades with better noise so with more competition we get better products.

looks like the shaft adapter is different, is it a better design than the 5 blade 90mm. did you have to balance the fan or did it come to you balanced

It did come balanced, and the shaft adapter does look better. I had a lot of problems with my CS 120mm shaft adapter, it ended up ruining the bearings in my motor. I just got back my replacement and it seems they have fixed the problem.....I hope.

7pds installed is not bad, looks like it is pulling more than the Wemo or Haoye 6 blade rotors and about the same as a Sickle (rcmart) DF90.

I loved the sound of the 70 and 90mm Sickle DF90s when spun up using heli mode on my esc, sounded EXACTLY like a turbine starting up. Had to stop using them cause they through blades like you wouldn't believe due to blades not be Fiber enforced and the clubs strip having dirt on the sides.

Can you tell if these blades are fiber enforced?

That would be great if they are, putting 9 - 10pds of thrust through them wouldn't be such an ordeal.

From what I am told they are fiber reinforced, the blades and shroud are very stiff and solid. I would like to try the HET 700-83-1080 on 12s, with a blast shield of course.
