60" Composite Man On Man, March 17
Man-on-man racing is about as fun as it gets. We had a great time a couple weeks ago racing 60" foamies at Temple. That hill is a great place to race 60" MOM. You can see your plane well, you're flying close to the hill, you have a lot of fast routes from one end to the other, landings are easy and safe, and retrieval is easy with a good chance of minimal damage. There are some rocky areas, but a major portion, including the landing zone, is soft, weed covered dirt.
We have three 60" composite Man-on-man races coming up over the next few months, leading into the unlimited ( 96"+ minimum) MOM. races, capped off by the two day Grass Mountain Unlimited Slope Race.
Now's the time to get your MOM chops up to snuff.
We have a 60 MOM race on Saturday, March 17. That's less than two weeks away, It's officially scheduled for Little Mountain, but I'm thinking of putting it at Temple again. That's just too good a venue for a 60" MOM. If anybody has any opinions, let me know.
Now's the time to get your 60" Composite out and tuned up. Make sure the batteries still charge and that everything's in propoer order. Once we start racing it's too late.
