The build looks good.

I think that on these EPP kits, 50-65% expo is what you should run. Tell us how the flights go.

I maidened it this morning, and it was great! It was a little lacking of power with the Hyp 2S 240, then I tried the Hyp 330s, MUCH better. I'm running the UMX Pitts powerplant, with the UMX MiG brick and servos. What are your guys AUWs? Mine seemed a little heavy, at 77 grams. It also seemed a little lacking in rudder throw, but with any more, the rudder hits the elevator.

I am using the max possible throws, and expo:

Elev: 50%
Ail:30%
Rudd:15%

Try it without the rudder expo and maybe play with moving the CG back just a little and see if you like it.

Thanks, I just realized that there is a TON of slop in the rudder pushrod, due to the large bend I had to make. I will post pics soon, to show what I mean.

EDIT: I took the pushrod apart before I remembered to take pics. I had a huge z-bend in the wire part of the pushrod, to bridge the vertical gap between the rudder servo, mounted on the fuse, and the rudd control horn. The z-bend kept flexing, causing the slop.

How am I supposed to route the pushrod between the rudd servo, placed on the horizontal fuse, and the rudder control horn, up high on the rudder??

I just looked through this thread at pics of other MX2s, and most of them have the pushrods angled up to meet the rudder control horn. I thought pushrods had to be a straight, level line from the servo arm to the horn.

Here is a good picture of the left side of my Mini Raptor showing the rudder pushrod install. The rudder horn has to be high enough to clear the elevator when it is full up. The pushrod is angled down a little but not much.

Thanks, I just reinstalled the pushrod, angling it up from the servo to the horn. It seemed to work fine, so I stepped outside and ran a few batteries through her. MUCH better, without all that slop.

Your MX2 is really a great plane! I had a few "encounters" with the ground, trying low-and-slow 3D, (too low-and-slow) and no damage whatsoever. These 3D EPP profiles are a lot tougher than they look!

It wont have nearly enough power. These 23" kits were designed for 2S Brushless UMX guts.
