I just picked up one of the Mig-15's at a swap meet just the jet no batteries. It's in perfect shape I'm going to use my GP F-86 batteries but now I see I need to change the balance connector but not a big deal. While I'm re-working the power connector does anybody know of any mods or something I should do while I got the fuselage apart. I like my GP F-86 but I think I'm going to like the Mig-15 better, anybody have both? How do they compare? Can't wait to fly it tomorrow!

It was scary, I tried a rosin pen, 0.8mm multicore solder, but I think it was the heat, it was so hard to get heat to that tiny contact. It finally worked when I held the iron on it for about a minute.

I TRIED to fly the BH Nano F-86, no luck. In the 50mm I flew the JAS29 from HK(kit version is available at Toysonics) off into the sunset, never to be seen again.
Flew the T-45(Goshawk colors) today and the T definitely stands for trainer
because this thing has a great glide capeability, almost as good as my Sensei.
Tried flying the Mirage kit from Toysonics but FODed the engine on taxi with it's
own servo cables, so I'm waiting for parts. I prefer getting the planes from
Toysonics, because if you buy their ARF versions they include a battery, where
BH and HK don't. About the only possible thing that BH has over Toysonics
is that they're offering their version of UMX on some of their 50mm.

Awe man, sorry to hear 'bout your flights.

I've only owned HobbyZone aircraft so I'm curious as to how the AMX 50mm EDF will fly.

Nose Snivel

Our mowing crew works on our club field on Fridays, and I fly almost exclusively on Sunday AM's, early. So, grass clippings can be a real hassle with the Mini MiG, not so much on the bottom of the plane but inside the intake. Also, with fire ants having a sensational year (due to no real winter weather this past season), the mowers can really blast a fire ant mount into finely dispersed powder. So, when my Mini MiG comes in on a really hot, greased landing, it's "nostrils" can get really gross in appearance. The "damage" is really more than cosmetic, as suitable chucks of grass and finely ground dirt can foul the fan unit.

After extensive study and development, I have been able to provide an answer to the problem, making clean-up and nose sniveling much more effective. Patents are pending.



Oh yes, I recommend dead stick landings where possible, to minimize injestion of foreign materials. Also, a thorough inspection after a flight, of both the intake and exhaust part of the power system. Love this little plane!!

I fly in a Township park that is mowed weekly. I can testify that the dew covered grass is a hazard. After every flight I have to wipe down the MIG and remove the clippings from the intake. Also, I must check the aileron servos and remove any grass from the servo gears. I noticed today that there a rust stains on the aileron servo horns where the wires attach. I do not even want to talk about the goose droppings. I do however enjoy low level strafing runs over the flock.
