Phil, you are a lucky dog, if I can get out of the house, I might head up to Bill's on Sunday

Kinetic K2m DP ultralight. "Maiden flight"

Before I even start, I want to thank Spencer Lisenby for the most excellent dedication to making me ( the customer) completely happy and confident in the initial setup. Second to none period.
Thank you Spencer!

Ok here you go!

Here is the footage of the maiden. I decided to make a couple of clips in 720p and also the full length 1080p with all the BS'n that comes with it.

I was shocked at how quick it accelerated after the I got it trimmed out in the beginning. The plane fly's beautifully under all conditions.

Spencer's settings were exact and it made the whole experience a pleasure.
59oz AUW!

The first clip is right after I trimmed it out.

The second one is crusin around.

The third is the landing.

The last is the whole maiden in HDwith all the bs'n too boot!

What a plane!

Thanks to Spencer Lisenby!

Congrats on the maiden Phil! Nice to have video too. Wait till you get it in some more wind you will be even more shocked at the acceleration.

I think the K2M is the best adrenaline vs $ ratio plane out there.

Glad it went well Phil! Look forward to hearing more as you get it dialed in and get used to the way it likes to be flown... Thanks for the report!

Flying

That would be awesome! And I need to get out to a regular DS hill maybe Parker or Weldon. I'll be looking at a 100" kinetic for the upcoming season also which should help with handling and orientation on the big hills. My wife is a international business woman and she periodically makes trips to Australia. I gotta go one of these times to join the hard core guys. I love the Gizmo, burner and other cool toys you guys dream up.

Soon!

Phil

noseweight

I followed Thomas' method of impact forming a lead sinker to maximize the density of the nose weight. A nice feature is an eyelet in the back of the sinker to aid removal.
The plane is still 1/4" tail heavy with this lead hunk & battery installed. I will need some trim weight, but not too much. Best of all, I won't have to epoxy it in until I'm happy with the CG.

So your nose weight is about the same as the all-up weight of a DLG
