EPP Foam Fumes

Just wondering.. Are EPP fumes toxic?? I've been cutting some EPP and it stinks, but I don't know if it is toxic. If it is, what is the procedure to prevent inhaling these fumes (besides not breathing)?

Get a respirator...plastic fumes can't be good.

Polyproplylene is more similar to waxes than foams like urethane foam so in one way the fumes are less toxic than foams that produce complex molecules like phosgene and cyanide which can come from burning some kinds of foam. There are databases of toxicities of various materials like MSDS available for arts and crafts materials. Yeah, avoid breathing fumes if possible but on the other hand it's not as dangerous as breathing in the fumes from a burning foam pillow. I cut wings in a my basement with the window open, and it's onlt for a short while anyway. Filter masks are available at places like home depot but I'm not sure if ones for "burning" fumes is avaialble there.

Set up a fan on a very slow speed that directs any fumes or other by-products away from you and better yet out of the shop/room window.
