Scale Sportfish Build

I have always loved custom Carolina sportfish boats. I came to the conclusion that in order for me to own one it would need to be measured in inches rather than feet. I am planning the length to be 32". It is inspired by boats in the 55' range. I am going to 3D model as many parts as I can. The hull will be cold molded just like the real ones.

Nice start. Can't wait to see the progress.

I have a Cabo 44 starting up in CAD. Not sure when I'll get to it.

Big Carolina flares and a low stern looks great on the water. I'm really liking this trend with modern sport fishers and modern pleasure boats.

I started the 3D model. The parts shown are in a very early stage. I just wanted to see how things were going to take shape from my first drawing. The bow needs some work. I am worried the flare is a bit too much.

Specific boat your modeling? I have my eyes on modeling a Cabo 35 in 1/12, but it's still on the back burner.

That's why they are dry boats.

I am not modeling a specific boat. I have been using pictures from a bunch of different builders for ideas.

Thanks for the compliment. The more I look at it the more I like it. Any changes will probably be minor.

I made some pretty good progress tonight. I changed all the bulkheads from 1/4" to 1/8", reworked the bow and added a strip of decking.
