Help!
I.D. This Plane---Any Ideas?

Looks like a GP Sportster, but has a different tail. Hard to tell whether it was a kit or scratch built. The leading edge was never rounded , but the rest of the structure looks good. Since the pics, I have mounted a Saito 56 and in a couple more hours on the bench, it'll be ready to fly.

Wing span 57" tip to tip; Cord 11"; Fuse length 43" ;5lbs. I have a huge investment ($5) in this ship so if I cant find the original name, I will be calling it the "Fast 5" or the "Blue Light Special."

it looks like a super sporster that someone got lazy building the tail feathers on.

I don't think that is a GP Super Sportster. The wing tips are wrong and if I remember correctly the tail feathers were preshaped. Of course it was over 20 years ago that I last built mine. It just doesn't look right to be a Sportster. Landing gear were never metal, they were pre-bent wire gear in the wings. Sort of an ugly thing...

May have started out as SSportster kit, but there are differences in the front as well as the back. Taper in front of wing and aft aren't quite right.

May be a scratch build from modified plans.

It kinda reminds me of a plans built design called a Funster. It was made into an ARF, by Hobby Lobby. http://www.modelairplanenews.com/blo...unster-arf-v2/

Great Planes Super Sportster 60 and Hobby Lobby Funster, both kit builds. Circa 1986.
