S-Glass
I would love to find some 2.5 S-Glass like Phil once had. Another cloth with a similar thread count and a weight of 2;5 or lower would be fine.
Thanks, Paul |

That is not the link you posted in the thread about the stuff. The doc said it has a thread count of 200 by 180. Maybe I read it wrong. I will look at the stuff from Thayer then. They have some right in the 2.5 range with pretty high thread counts. I really like the firmer fabric for wing lay-ups.

I will give you a shout later, my eyes are not what they were so it may have been an 80 by 100.
If what I used is 60 by 60 then I am even more excited because I can get fabrics with those kinds of thread counts pretty regularly. Paul |

R&G appears to have it, or something very similar listed. http://shop.r-g.de/en/by-manufacture.../m-silane.html I was getting ready to order some, but a friend came through with some for me. I use it in my fuselages for hatches (two layers plus a layer of Kevlar in between) and for reinforcing around the hatch opening. I find it quite superior to E-glass but it doesn't contour. So its application is limited when it comes to fuselages. It has a nice tight weave.
I also have some 4522 and I don't consider it anywhere near as good for the job as the weave is fairly open. It may contour though; really I haven't tried it. Not S-glass, but you might find this interesting: http://shop.r-g.de/en/by-manufacture.../m-silane.html Gerald |

Gerald, That is a great find !!!! The thickness is also very nice!!! I just ordered a small roll of 3070 from Thayer. It isn't S-glass but it will give a nice finish and it should be pretty stiff. I may just suck it up and order some carbon when the funds allow.
Thanks Gerald |
