Here's mine.

Speed 480 motor
Stock gearbox
Graupner CAM 10X8 folding prop
E-Flight 20 amp ESC
8 cell, 1600mah, NiMh battery
Hitec HS-55's for the ailerons
Hitec HS -81MG's for the tailfeathers
Strapping tape applied to the lower fuse, and clear packing tape applied to the LE of the wings. (Not shown on photos)

I dug out the steel ball in the tail yesterday because it was very tail heavy inspite of the larger motor. (For those of you just starting your assembly, leave out the steel ball! What a pain to remove!)

Thanks for starting this thread. I've been wanting to get one of these. Now, looking at your picks, it looks like I will have to take the next step and order one. Any advise as to where to get the best deal?

windsox - I'm using a Hyperion Y22L 2840kv brushless. It has the same dimensions of a brushed speed 400 and the same output shaft. Got it from Air Craft World - Japan

hermitt - thanks for the compliment. The colors extend to the underside of the painted sections and they really help in orientation. Unfortunately I had a case of "dumb thumbs" last Sunday and planted the nose into the ground. Looks like I'll need to replace my gearbox

Well the damage didn't turn out to be that bad. Spinner and backplate was cracked but the props are ok. Receiver crystal pins bent (easily bent back to normal). Motor and ESC work fine. Gearbox is surprisingly intact except for one of the bearings on the shaft. Fuse was crinkled in some parts but nothing like a good boil should straighten it out. Looks like the elapor absorbed the impact well.

Hi Numb Thumbs... you wouldn't happen to go by the real name of David? I recognise your proprietory flouro orange scheme on a Twinstar being posed with a grey haired, bearded gentleman in the last RCMNews 'flying electrics' section!!

I first noticed the EGE from the review by David Hipperson on the following pages of the above mentioned magazine and as I've been thinking about getting another glider I went and ordered one.

Couple questions I'm hoping to get answered if anyones' willing... I've spend the last couple days scouring these threads and can't quite seem to get a straight answer...

1. Are you guys taking off the small mould dimples?
There seems to be mixed opinions about this... the reviewer in RCMNews, David Hipperson, recommends it and to use fine sandpaper to do the job. Others on this site have recommend to use a blade! D'oh! no thanks! I messed around sanding some off underside the horizontal stab and noticed that it also takes off the shiny finish of the elapor... is that ok or should I be trying to keep that sealed look finish? I would prefer to take em off as the dimples kinda give it that cheap foamy toy look.

2. Are you guys preping the elapor foam prior to painting? I notice MX recommend their MULTI-Primer. I can't seem to get ahold of that stuff around here so is there a simple alternative like sanding or something else?

3. This ones' for aussie peoples, what's a good brand spray can to use? I'm off to adelaide tomorrow so I should be able to get access to most brands.

4. 'Cause elapor isn't a real stiff surface, does the paint crack and flake off the elapor? I have a parkzone stryker (EPP) which I painted with waterbased artists paints through an airbrush and after a couple months of use (and a hard landings!) the paints' all cracked and flaking off and I have to continualy brush more on to keep it nice.

Any help and suggestions are more than appreciated!!
