Holiday in Greece

Me and my woman booked a holiday a while ago to Pylos a seaside village in Messinia on the southwest side of mainland Greece, leaving this Sunday.

Got the ok to take along my recently completed Weasel Evo to take some time out while she's relaxing by the pool.

Just scanned the area with Google earth- suprise, suprise, look what I found just a couple of miles South of the village.
A ridge 450 meters high about 1 km long! with a road or track to the top. Whoo Hoo!

Haven't had the heart to tell her yet, she ain't gonna believe I didn't know about it before we booked.

So any Brit flyers planning a holiday next year, I'll post some pics.
(wonder if there's any room in my luggage for a mouldie )

Cool stuff Cliff! Greece also has some great coastal sites, I have flown in Corfu and most of the sites were just a short walk from the road.

This may be a silly question, but are there any security issues with bringing radio gear on an airplane?
Going to Greece myself in a few days :-)

Thats exactly why I bought the Weasel EVO to, I go skiing a couple of times a year and always wish I had a model with me that would fit in a rucksac - hope you have a good fly! By the way what are frequency regs in mainland Europe a friend of mine from Geneva reckons you can now use 35MHz kit as well as 40MHz, suppose if you are on 2.4GHz it makes no difference.

In the past I've taken the battery out of the Tx, and put them in with the hold luggage- been no problems.

Greece, like most of Europe, is on 35 mhz.

Most worldwide frequencies given here:http://www.fai.org/aeromodelling/frequencies

Me thinks you might want to upgrade your rental car to 4WD

LOL- Yep, and with Greece like most places, even if you pay for extra insurance, the underside of the car and tyres are not covered.

Bit of a hill to walk though, in ~35deg C (95 deg F) of sunshine
